Wassail Inspired Oatmeal Recipe

In the morning they fed me some oatmeal and it was the best thing I had eaten in three weeks. It was mainly cause I had starved myself and that it was something that finally tasted satisfying.
Brown Sugar Oatmeal RecipeI decided to make a few tweaks to the recipe so that it would have a more seasonal taste. I used the Maple & Brown Sugar flavor of the Quaker® Instant Oats and instead of water or milk, I used apple juice. What a difference that tiny thing can make. They now have an indicator to fill up the liquid in the packet so you’re not wasting dishes.Oatmeal and Apple RecipeI used 2/3 cup for each packet and used a total of two to fill me up. Add some dried cranberries and microwave on high for about 1.5 minutes, then stir.cranberry oatmeal recipeOnce you’ve removed it from the microwave, add in your walnuts, dash of cinnamon and about 1/8 tsp. of fresh orange zest. Easy peasy.

Make this delish Wassail Inspired Oatmeal using cranberries, cinnamon, orange zest and walnuts.
Ingredients
  • 1 pkt Quaker® Instant Oats in Maple & Brown Sugar
  • 2/3 c. Apple Juice
  • 1/8 c. Dried Cranberries
  • 1/8 c. chopped Walnuts
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 4 scrapes of Orange Zest from the Microplane
Instructions
  1. Empty your packet of Quaker® Instant Oats and add the apple juice and dried cranberries.
  2. Microwave for 1.5 min. and stir
  3. Add the walnuts, cinnamon and orange zest
