  • Mott’s Medleys® Fruit Snacks, 40-ct box
  • Pink, Yellow, Purple and Gray Cardstock
  • Pencil
  • Sciccors
  • Glue

Begin by gathering all your supplies and set them aside besides the pink paper. Empty your box of Mott’s Medleys® Fruit Snacks and trace your empty box onto the pink paper. Cut out the pink paper in the sides, front, back, top and bottom. You’ll want to be sure to get a square cut so that you can get exact sides.Cut the long side of the box on three sides so that you’ll have a flap to be able to place the Box Tops inside and remove them. On that tab you’ll glue two ends together on a ribbon and glue that to the inside of the box so you have a tab.Attach the pink cardstock to all sides of your Mott’s Medleys® Fruit Snacks box using adhesive. You can use any Box Tops for Education for this DIY Box Tops collection box. When I was at Walmart, I grabbed a whole bunch –

  • Honey Nut Cheerios™

  • Old El Paso™ Taco Dinner Kit
  • Mott’s Medleys® Fruit Snacks

Create a First Day of School Customized Binder with Vinyl

September 1, 2017

The kids started school last week so I wanted to make Leila a customized binder with vinyl from Expressions Vinyl and put my new Cricut Maker to work.Create a customized binder using vinylThis post contains affiliate links. Thank you for your support.

I love my new Cricut Maker. Let me say that again, I love my new Cricut Maker. I’ve had it for a week or so now and I’ve only dared cut vinyl but it gives me such clean lines and precision that I can’t wait to cut other material. I just need to add 80 more hours in the day for that to happen. Create a customized binder using vinylSupplies

Click on the file to open the pre-made template using their Alpaca shape. This file is completely free and it’s adorable so it’s a win-win situation. I cut the black Alpaca’s out of the Magenta Glitter FX sheets and the pink Alpaca’s out of the gold lustre vinyl. Create a customized binder using vinylThe Glitter FX is a bit thicker than standard vinyl but it’s also a lot cushier and soft to the touch. Because of this, I did a double cut with my Cricut Maker and it peeled off very clean. It comes in other colors too and it’s a very subtle glitter look that I love. Sometimes the glitter vinyl is just pure glitter and it gets a little too busy for my taste. That’s why I love the Glitter FX and it’s even on sale at Expressions Vinyl.Create a customized binder using vinylOnce you’ve cut your shapes and you’ve peeled off the excess, unroll your transfer tape and lay the image on top of it. Doing it this opposite way will help the transfer tape from creating bubbles. Use your scraper tool and press from both sides to get a good stick. Peel away the backing slowly to insure you get all the shapes transferred.Create a customized binder using vinylNext, lay your vinyl over your binder and use the scraper tool to get a solid stick. You’ll then grab your gold vinyl and repeat the steps so that they’ll line up and you’ll have a staggered effect on your customized binder. Next create your name in Design Space. I used the Sanies Script font to create my daughter’s name. I cut it out of the light pink permanent vinyl.Create a customized binder using vinylVoila, you’re finished and your child is going to love their customized binder that you created using only vinyl. What type of thing will your child want on their customized binder? Or better yet, what do you want on your customized binder?

I can’t believe school starts in a matter of days for some and a few weeks for others. I love when my kids are in school, I’m not gonna lie. Teachers are my saving grace and I love everything they do and teach my children. I often wonder if they’re doing a better job than I am.

I made this printable using my iPad Pro and iPencil along with the Pro Create app. Super easy and the smoothness you get from the iPencil is amazing. It was definitely a high purchase item for me but I’ve found many uses for it so far.

Grab this free back to school printable and teacher gift idea on seeLINDSAYI also grabbed some Neon Crayons from Amazon and just tied a cute ribbon so that it’d be secure on the box. Took me 5 minutes total once I printed out my file, cut it and secured it.

The Best (FREE) Learning Apps with your Amazon Fire Tablet

September 22, 2016

what-are-the-best-educational-apps-through-amazon-undergroundEach of my children have their own Amazon Fire Tablet that I was able to score last year on Cyber Monday. It was the perfect gift for each of them because I mainly wanted it to keep them occupied for a fraction of the price. I want to share with you the best FREE learning apps available though Amazon Underground.best-education-apps-for-kindleMany times my children have downloaded apps that have cost me money, a lot of money that I wasn’t happy about. Now I know that with Amazon Underground, they can download apps that are actually free.the-best-learning-apps-for-kidsI’ve compiled a list of FREE apps that each of my kids use to help them with school work and help them with their problem solving. I’ve separated it by years for Elementary aged children that will help you as parents make the right choices on what is the most appropriate free app for them.

  • Kindergarten – Elmo Loves ABC’s

This app allows the child to trace the upper and lower case ABC’s. You can track your child’s progress and see how long they’ve used the app. It comes with fun coloring pages to learn the colors a little easier and you can watch Sesame Street videos.

  • First Grade – Endless Reader

I love this game for my first grader. She can touch a work and it makes the noise that the letter sounds like and you find the matching one. It’s a lot of fun and it gives you a silly scenario at the end of what those words and sentences mean.

  • Second Grade – Math Run

This app features subtraction, addition, multiplication and division and it features them in games. It is a timed game and gives multiple choice answers and if you get it wrong, you stop running.

  • Third Grade – Third Grade Learning Games

This game actually comes for all grades but this one for third graders is perfect. It has a variety of subjects the kids can choose in math and language arts.

  • Fourth Grade – Planet Genesis

Any child who loves Star Wars pretty much loves space. This app shows kids the difference in the sizes of the solar system, teaches them the planets and you can do gravity simulation.

  • Fifth Grade – Geo Expert

Fifth graders are all about learning the states in the USA. This app helps identify states and their capitals to help with all those state reports!

  • Sixth Grade – Roblox

There are a lot of games available through Roblox and my kids love it. I figure by time they’re in sixth grade they should at least have a little fun sometimes. This gives them the options to choose what game they’re interested in that day and the opportunity to make honest choices if you tell them to choose a good game. 😉best-kids-apps-for-kindleLeila also loves to play ABC Mouse which does require a membership but it has been worth every cent. She’s learned new techniques for sounding out letters and it’s helping her form her words better. She’s also a preemie baby born 10 weeks early so she needs a little extra help catching up to her classmates.

All of these apps have helped my children in so many ways. I love that educational apps are a thing and that they’re so advance. Remember though, Amazon Underground is only supported on 5th Generation (2012 – newer) and newer Fire tablets, and Android phones.

Create a Star of the Week poster the easy way

May 23, 2016

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #HugtheMess #cbias #CollectiveBiasIs your child Star of the Week? Grab this creative and easy poster idea.Leila’s birthday was last week and so it’s her turn to be Star of the Week in Kindergarten. She is such a creative girl so I wanted her to be able to create this poster herself. We’ll add some personal photos before she takes it to school but she’s really excited to show all her friends and especially her teacher what she made. Is your child Star of the Week? Grab this creative and easy poster idea. You’ll need:

Is your child Star of the Week? Grab this creative and easy poster idea.We started by applying our stencils to our poster board and then started spraying our color spray over them. It’ll leave a negative effect on the board so feel free to use any shape you’d like. I decided to use some stars because it’s simply the Star of the Week. Some hearts and diamonds would be a lot of fun too. Be sure to shake that bottle of color spray so that you get all the shimmer that collects at the bottom of the bottle. Oh, and wear your shirt backwards too.Is your child Star of the Week? Grab this creative and easy poster idea.To clean my stencils, I always use Huggies Wipes. I like the Huggies One and Done because they’re thicker wipes compared to others on the market. It’s the perfect time to grab them too in the personal care aisle with this $0.50 coupon from Walmart. I also like the Huggies simply Clean because they’re great for wiping up the mess off the table and her little hands. I like to just wait for the spray to dry before removing them and because it’s water soluble ink, it’s really easy clean-up. Walmart in store photoIs your child Star of the Week? Grab this creative and easy poster idea.I added some of her favorite things into each stencil outline and she loved being my model. I can’t wait until she grows older and see the other ideas she comes up with. She’s such a sweet girl that I sometimes feel bad she got me as her mother. Her and I are alike in so many ways when it comes to messes that I’m glad we have something like Huggies to help us out. Is your child Star of the Week? Grab this creative and easy poster idea.
